Do studios execs think television audiences are getting stupider, er, dumber, um incoherent?
Or do studio execs try to reel out every piece of information from the grave (pun greatly intended) to boost ratings??
Stop with "i'm back from the dead" shpeel. 25++ years ago it didn't work for Bonanza, and it STILL does not work.
So current shows that need to give more credit to the audience IQ level:
GREY'S ANATOMY
-As much as Denny was a fan favorite, (including myself), this whole Denny back from the dead... but only Izzie can see him is just plain stupid. The producers totally killed the poetic ending of the Izzie/Denny love story. Now it is an overplayed record... turn... turn.... turn...crack..... oh, and turn..
24
-Now I'm not as harsh to Tony's revival as I am for Denny... Simply because the government can do sneaky things... But, the whole explanation new character FBI Special Agent Renee Walker gave Jack was quick, vague, and not very convincing. Pretty cheap. But I actually don't mind Tony's return because Sunday's 2 hour premiere seemed quite promising for an exciting Day 7.
shows where it is perfectly fine to bring a character back to life:
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER-- ...VAMPS, DEMONS, MONSTERS, OH MY!
ANGEL-- DITTO
HEROES
LOST
**Now my smart tv viewers, please identify the common theme...
oh and....
ONE TREE HILL -- just because
