Reality Television has reached a new low...and a network high

"I love you..."               "...and you."

Last night was a an event that will go down in "15 minutes of Fame" history.

It was the season finale of ABC's The Bachelor, followed by a special After the Final Rose hour long segment. It was 3 hours of... of... I do not even know a word to describe the emotions I am feeling. 

For those of you who have not heard or do not own a television, the internet (that's another issue that remotely pertains to this here site), or a radio then let me sum up the evening.

Jason Mesnick, a divorced man with a three year old child, Ty and was heartbroken after last season's The Bachelorette, Deanna dumped him. He was down on his knees, and ready to propose. Awwwww.

So Jason was this season's bachelor. Which many like myself, were really enthusiastic that the poor guy would get a second chance at finding love, using roses...

Ok so the two women left for the series finale were, Dallas ex-Cowboy Cheerleader Melissa, spunky, fun, and a replica of Deanna. The other is Molly, a Michigan golfer who is practical, but in loooove.

Let me re-enact last night's dialogue:

9:55ET airtime: Jason: "Molly, I love you and you're perfect. Goodbye"

9:57ET airtime: Jason: "Melissa, I have been wanting to say this for so long, I love you. Will you marry me?"

Cut to After the Final Rose

10:04ET: Jason: "Melissa, you're fun, but I changed my mind."

10:04ET: Melissa: "Bastard"

10:15ET: Jason: "Molly, I love you. Let's have coffee"

10: 20ET: Molly: "Ok" Kiss

They leave....

UM WHAT??????

I feel sooo bad for both of these girls. Jason told Goober Chris (Host Chris Harrison's nickname coined by..me) that Melissa indirectly knew how Jason had been feeling since he proposed....

I do not believe that. Melissa was obviously heartbroken when he confessed this to her in the "private After the Rose special". Wow, jab her a little more....

I felt horrible for Melissa, and I do not believe Molly knows the whole truth behind Jason's deceit. 

Let me make it clear that before both women came out to meet Goober Chris and Jason, at different times, they were backstage and could not hear the conversation Goober Chris and Jason were having.

That is wrong! The girls had no idea. Melissa gets thrown to the rose thorns and Molly is sitting on a bed of crap.

I felt horrible and guilty that I was watching this poor taste in television, yet I could not peel away from this trashy disaster. 

And that is why ABC won in ratings last night:
