The actual Academy Award Ceremony is ok. Yea I know, tisk tisk "What?! You do not fully engage in the most celebrated Hollywood Event of the year?!" No, No I do not.
Reason? Let me count the ways...
Here's my newest to the list: Zombieland... where are you?
Anyway, I do however enjoy many things that lead up to the event. And no, I am not talking about the gowns, the glamour, and the steroid size Oscar statues parading the red carpet.
The attraction of tonight's festivities will be focused on Two People....
..and no I'm not referring to a "King" of another world, or his ex-Bigelow
I'm talking about the hosts: Steve Martin & Alec Baldwin.
The Denny Crane and Alan Shore. The Ed McMahon and Johnny Carson. The Cheech and Chong.
Oh it's gonna be good.
On with the Predictions....
Red marks Win Prediction
***THOUGHTS FROM LAST NIGHT***
(Updated Mon, March 8, 2010)
- I was looking forward to the Martin-Baldwin collaboration. Was extremely disappointed... except for the Paranormal Activity bit.
- The only dazzle from NPH's performance came from his glitzy ensemble.
- Best Dressed: Robert Downey Jr.
- Worst Face Dressed: Sandra, last night was not Gracie Lou Freebush's night, a bit heavy on the makeup...
- John Hughes Tribute: Fantastic
- In Memoriam Tribute: Not Fantastic... Bea Arthur and Farrah Fawcett absent.. what?
- Horror Film Tribute: Why was Twilight included?
- Worst Acceptance Speech: Sandy Powell (Costume Design)
- Best Acceptance Speech: Kathryn Bigelow (Director & Best Picture)- ... Continuously thanked the women (yep she said women first) and men who serve in our US military.... wonderful!
CONCLUSION: Crazy, but, the 82nd Academy Award Ceremony will be remembered for the actual winners from the evening, not the other charades that usually make the morning headlines.
