I thought about making a comprehensive annual 2009 list. Then I thought to myself, it shouldn't require a lot of thought....
Therefore, my "Best of" list is short. No research was used in compiling the data below. I believe, if something was the best, it required no collective research and therefore would immediately emerge into my memory. I'm not saying the following are the only prizes that came from 2009. These are simply the pop culture phenomenons that I shall treasure.
So Here It Is...
The Hurt Locker -
A prime example of a film that captivated the emotions of a soldier simply by cutting the film into a perfect sequence. Kudos to the Post Production Team. The editing made this film emotional and suspenseful. It truly proved that the quality of a film does not depends on the Special FX budget (i.e. Transformers 2, 2012)
Up in the Air -
One of the best films of the year that provided and continues to provide various interpretations and innovative conversations.
Zombieland -
Just. Plain. Awesome.
TV: (Strictly new shows)
Cougar Town - Perfectly strung
Glee - Perfectly sung
Modern Family- Perfect dysfunctional family
WWW...
Google - nada "Bing" - Not only is Google my choice, but Bing needs to work on advertising. Which producer thought it would be a great idea cash in on the vampire craze by creating a 30 second commercial about a fanged rapist whom lures a woman into a creepy motel room? Poor taste, Bing, very poor.
Twitter - A large reason why the Reel Film Talk blog is getting shorter and shorter...
Facebook- Stalking and talking. It's a gem. Although, I'm still waiting on a "dislike" option...
